Around 460 employees worldwide – including 370 at our headquarters in Frasnacht, Switzerland – develop and manufacture precision “Made in Switzerland” with passion and dedication.

More than 95 percent of our production is exported – a clear sign of the global trust placed in our technology and quality. 1943 – Founder Egon Bruderer

Visionary entrepreneur Egon Bruderer laid the foundation for the company on February 18, 1943, with the establishment of Maschinenfabrik E. Bruderer in Egnach on the shores of Lake Constance in Switzerland. Initially, he repaired agricultural machinery and, alongside this work, developed a laundry press under the name “Mühelos”.

1946 – Relocation to Arbon

Just three years later, Egon Bruderer relocated the company headquarters to Arbon, laying the foundation for the company’s future specialization in precision stamping technology.

1958 – Foundation of BRUDERER AG

The establishment of the sales company BRUDERER AG marked the beginning of the company’s rise as an international machine manufacturer. During this period, the first high-speed presses based on the three-column principle were developed – a milestone in stamping technology.

1965 – The technological breakthrough

In 1965, engineer August Portmann filed a patent for an innovative stamping press featuring a bottom-mounted drive system and complete mass balancing. This groundbreaking idea led to the launch of the world’s first stamping press with full mass compensation in 1967 – the legendary BSTA 60. This innovation paved the way for BRUDERER’s global success and continues to shape the company’s technology to this day.

1970s – Further development and expansion

At the beginning of the 1970s, the concept was further refined, including the introduction of top-mounted mass compensation. At the same time, international expansion began with the establishment of subsidiaries and service locations across Europe, Asia and North America to support customers worldwide.

1980s–1990s – Precision on an industrial scale

BRUDERER further strengthened its market position and became synonymous with high-performance stamping technology. Through the use of state-of-the-art manufacturing systems and continuous innovation in drive systems, control technology and tooling, the product portfolio was steadily expanded.

2000s – Digitalization and automation

With the start of the new millennium, BRUDERER consistently focused on digital control systems, intelligent process monitoring and integrated automation solutions. The combination of mechanics, electronics and software became a core competency.

2010–2020 – Sustainability and global connectivity

As an independent family-owned company, BRUDERER continuously invested in new technologies, robotics and energy-efficient manufacturing systems. A global network of competence centers ensures close customer relationships and fast service support across Europe, Asia and the USA.

2025 – Usability redefined. Made by BRUDERER

With the new B3 machine control system, the integrated BSP stamping strip packaging control, the unique BSV servo technology and the proven BBV strip feed systems, BRUDERER delivers holistic, application-oriented solutions for the stamping technology of tomorrow – connected, efficient and precise.
